Specklebang's Favorite Books. If you have no mouth, you won't be able to scream.

This book list is a work in process.  . I'm working on it in my spare time and I hope to live long enough to see its completion. Every book listed below made something magic happen for me. While some of the early listings are hardly obscure authors, I thought that you understanding what it is that I like, will help you decide if I'm going to be giving you useful stuff in the obscure department. I look at thousands of self-published books are they are 99% dreck. It's like wading through a 500 yard wide open sewer looking for an occasional gleam of gold where a winner is sitting. Are the self-pub authors as good as the famous ones? Maybe not, and certainly not as well edited. But life isn't always perefect, the rose garden has thorns and these are really good books that are quite the bargain. Each book will be a link for your further edification. I do not get paid for sales made through these links. This is my gift to The Galaxy. It won't fix everything, you know how big this place is. Try counting stars sometimes and you'll see what I mean. So.....why not rummage for a treasure? Look at all the free labor you're getting on the deal.

I'll welcome any suggestions you make about the layout or books I've clearly overlooked. You can thank me for my efforts. or you can hex me for clogging up the internet with yet one more page, at a time when we are drowning in information. It's interesting that everyone having access to all the knowledge ever accumulated, a very sci-fi concept if you go back 50 years, the resulting so-called "humanity" are still the same bunch of assholes that they ever were. All the inventions, creations and communications haven't stopped us from being murderous, angry and cruel. Can you imagine a world full of nice people? You'd be bored out of your skull.

If you are just choked up and have something to say that doesn't need to be typed in all CAPS or without punctuation, then please email me and I'll do my best to care. You'll get a response as polite as your email and you won't get put on a mailing list or have anything attempted to be sold to you. If you are an author whose work is relevant to the types of books being discussed here, you may send me a review copy or link and I'll look at it. If I like it - I'll say so. I'll put it up here if you so request. You can hang out with Sheckley and Ellison. That'll keep you on your toes.

SCIENCE FICTION. It might be now, it might be a million years from now, it might be Tuesday. The science might be a bit imaginative, but science is the basis. Will we ever have teleportation, telepathy, particle cannons, ill tempered AIs and spice? Of course we will. Think I'm wrong? Imagine yourself in 1914 trying to get someone to believe you own an Ipad or a cell phone.
